Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday presented the N4.2 trillion 2026 Budget Estimates to the Lagos State House of Assembly, christening it the “Budget of Shared Prosperity.”
The governor explained that the spending plan is structured around four strategic pillars: Human-Centric City, Modern Infrastructure, Thriving Economy, and Effective Governance.

- Total Budget: N4.2 Trillion
- Capital Expenditure: N2.2 Trillion (52%)
- Recurrent Expenditure: N2 Trillion (48%)

- Education: N249 Billion
- Health: N338 Billion
- Environment: N235 Billion
- Economic Affairs (Infrastructure, Agric, Transport, etc.): N1.47 Trillion
- Housing: N123 Billion
- Public Order & Safety: N147 Billion

2025 Budget Performance
Governor Sanwo-Olu also reported that the 2025 Budget achieved an 81% performance rate as of September 30, 2025, a key metric he described as evidence of improved implementation and fiscal discipline.

According to the administration, the 2026 Budget of Shared Prosperity aligns with the expanded T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda and the Parastatal Monitoring Framework, designed to improve accountability and accelerate service delivery.
