Hon. Tunde Azeez, popularly known as Disco, has stepped down as Chairman of Agege Local Government due to health issues that hindered his capacity to perform his responsibilities effectively.
During a plenary session, the council’s Legislative Arm praised Azeez for his dedication and service to the community, acknowledging his commitment to public duty and wishing him a swift recovery.
His resignation, submitted on medical grounds, was unanimously approved by the lawmakers and took effect immediately. The council highlighted that this development underscores the need to prioritize personal health while ensuring responsible governance.
Subsequent to the acceptance of his resignation, the House unanimously confirmed Hon. AbdulGaniyu Vinod Obasa as the new Chairman of Agege Local Government. Lawmakers emphasized that Vinod’s appointment demonstrates the council’s dedication to smooth leadership transition, stability, and continued delivery of services to residents.
