Breaking: CDCFIB shortlists successful candidates for CBT Exams—see how to check if you have been shortlisted

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued an important update tonight regarding the status of shortlisted candidates for its ongoing 2025 recruitment exercise.

The board has confirmed that a Computer-Based Test (CBT) will soon be conducted for those whose names appear on the shortlist.

Shortlisted candidates are advised to monitor their emails, SMS messages, and the official CDCFIB recruitment portal for further instructions.

A public notice signed by Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) A. M. Jibril (Secretary to the Board) underscores that only applicants who validly applied for any of the four services (NSCDC, NCoS, FFS, NIS) will have access to check their status online.

The board also issued a stern warning against fraud, urging applicants not to engage with unauthorized third-party platforms that may solicit payment or personal information.

What Applicants Should Do Next

1. Visit the Official Portal
Go to the recruitment site (https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng) to check whether your name is on the shortlist, and to find details on test centres, dates, and times.

2. Confirm Your Status
Use your login credentials and look for a “Shortlisted Candidates” section. Some reports say the portal will become active later this week for such verifications.

3. Be Prepared for CBT
Once your status is confirmed, prepare for the CBT — read up on the format, practice past exam questions, and make sure you know your test centre in advance.

4. Avoid Scams
Only trust the official CDCFIB website and announcements. The board has explicitly stated it does not charge any fees for recruitment processes.

The recruitment process for 2025 reportedly generated some 1.9 million applications nationwide.

Out of these, 171,956 candidates have been shortlisted. Among them, approximately 25,818 are female, while 146,138 are male.

Kaduna State is said to have the highest number of shortlisted candidates.
